Alhasanat TV is a community-focused media platform that creates and shares content rooted in faith, education, culture, and social responsibility — and runs the programmes behind it. It's the media arm of Alhasanat Foundation Kenya, a youth-led organization founded in 2012 in Manyatta Arab, Kisumu.

Who we are

A media platform, born from a youth group.

Alhasanat Foundation Kenya began in 2012 as a small youth group in Manyatta Arab, one of Kisumu's Muslim communities. What started as young people organizing among themselves grew into a registered non-profit community based organization, now working across five Muslim slum communities in the county.

Alhasanat TV grew out of that foundation as its media arm — a platform that produces faith-based and community programmes, supports podcasts, talks, and discussions, promotes youth talent through halal recreation and sports, and connects communities to opportunities and positive initiatives. We believe media should uplift, educate, and inspire people to do good, consistently.

Alhasanat TV — Our Vision

Our mission is to use media as a tool for positive change — promoting good deeds, nurturing talent, and strengthening community values. That mission grew out of the original vision Alhasanat Foundation was founded on: to be the safe space for Muslim youths to discuss and find solutions to the issues facing them and other Muslim youths around the world.

Founding objectives

Four commitments Alhasanat Foundation set — still guiding the work today.

To unite Muslim youths from all corners of the country, Africa, and the world at large.
To provide economic, social, and counselling support to the Muslim community.
To be the platform for Muslim youths to address issues that affect them — adolescent sexual and reproductive health, drugs and substance abuse, teenage pregnancies, and peer pressure.
To set up youth satellite centres in all five Muslim communities in Kisumu, where youth can access information and conduct meetings and workshops.

Faith & Education

Programmes focused on Islamic knowledge, moral guidance, and lifelong learning.

Seminars & Workshops

Held quarterly to introduce and refresh our objectives and calendar with youth from the five slums we work with.

Qur'an Recitation Competition

Brings youth from madrassas across the county together, nurturing a culture of Qur'an reading from a tender age.

Also in motion: Qur'an reflections and readings, faith-based talks and discussions, educational content for families and youth — launching progressively.

Youth & Talent Development

Creating safe, halal platforms for young people to discover, develop, and showcase their talents.

Every August

Youth Festival

Youth groups showcase talent through Islamic plays, verses, and poems — held every August, except when Ramadhan falls in the same month.

Regular

Life Skills Training

Equips youth to navigate career decisions, choice of friends, and goal-setting — countering peer pressure, the biggest obstacle we've identified to youth reaching their goals.

Focus Group Discussions

Communities have their own solutions to the issues affecting them. These discussions identify what's happening in each community and the best approach to solving it.

Clean-Up Activity

Targets mosques, madrassas, community halls, and dispensaries across all five slums, with waste-management tips, bags, gloves, and brooms provided.

Ramadhan

Ramadhan Feeding Programme

Cooking oil, maize flour, wheat flour, rice, and washing soap distributed to poor and needy families and orphanages, at the start and middle of the month.

Also in motion: charity awareness campaigns, community stories and impact features, promoting the spirit of sadaqah — planned initiatives.

Football Tournament

Keeps youth engaged during the long holidays. Run under our Alhasanat TV banner as the Inter-Masjid Football Tournament — two editions completed so far, with the 2025 Kisumu Edition drawing support from seven local sponsors.

Every Eid

Kids Eid Festival

Every Muslim child, orphaned or not, gets to celebrate — bouncing castles, face painting, water games, sack races, snacks, and refreshments.

Weekend event · Manyatta Arab

Manyatta Arab Junior Open Tournament

A junior football tournament for two age brackets — Mini Juniors (9–11, 2 teams) and Juniors (13–16, 4 teams) — run with Manyatta Arab Primary School and Equip2Empower UAE, strengthening ties between schools, masjids, and families.
